Work Location:  Remote w/ occasional trips to site

Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rateHours: 40 hrs / wk


The required qualifications are as follows:

  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

  • DOE experience in this area and ion exchange – MANDATORY


As a Chemical/Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing ion exchange and filtration systems for nuclear waste processing. Your expertise in chemical engineering principles and nuclear waste management will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of radioactive materials.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop ion exchange and filtration systems for nuclear waste processing, considering safety, efficiency, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify optimal chemical processes and materials for nuclear waste treatment.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to develop and implement innovative solutions for nuclear waste management.

  • Perform process simulations and modeling to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Evaluate and troubleshoot existing ion exchange and filtration systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary modifications.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing ion exchange and filtration systems, preferably in the DOE industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear waste processing principles, including ion exchange, filtration, and solid-liquid separation techniques.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety protocols related to nuclear waste management.

  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work.
