Civil/Structural Engineer Lead
(heavy large bore piping (steam) experience required)
Project: Power Uprate Project
Work Location: Hybrid schedule, expenses (GSA rates). We anticipate 2 weeks on-site and 2 weeks working from home.
Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Duration: Initially One Year w/ annual extensions expected
Schedule: 40 Hours per week
Responsibilities:
Performing large bore piping (steam) replacement and analyzation of current bore piping systems
Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of Civil/Structural systems including definition of functional and performance requirements, environmental and seismic qualification.
Perform assessments for various types of Civil structures and produce related documentation including assessment documents, calculations, technical specifications, etc.;
Interface with various engineering disciplines, suppliers, and other functional divisions of the company;
Provide responses to technical enquiries from design review teams and regulatory agencies;
Ensure the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans;
Attend site meetings and perform walk-downs for data collection, inspections, condition assessment and configuration management as required;
Prepare/review analysis and design of large pour piping systems.
Prepares and reviews plant configuration packages in accordance with plant procedures
Interpret and respond to piping technical inquiries from customers, vendors and field personnel with minimum supervision.
Ability to review project contracts, schedules, and requirements in detail to determine piping requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.
Perform necessary calculations associated with pipe support design.
Collaborate with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to optimize design solutions.
Requirements:
Experience with large bore piping installing and/or replacement (steam bore piping)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
