Estimator - SME (w/ Nuclear fleet wide estimating experience)
Work Location: Birmingham, AL
Duration: Initially One year (annual extensions anticipated)
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Hours: Standard business hours of M-F 8:00 am-4:00 pm CST and will not incur any overtime
Candidate should have sufficient knowledge of SNC’s estimating software (WinEst) and provide maintenance and support, where necessary, of SNC specific:
Custom interface configuration (INI files)
Custom report development
Custom line-item programing
Auto calculator formatting and configuration
Candide will estimate all nuclear heavy industrial disciplines including electrical, mechanical, civil, instruments and controls, new structures
Candidate must have experience with the nuclear work management processes and milestones (online and outage).
Candidate will be responsible for
Developing detailed estimates for all types of major projects
Engaging appropriate stakeholders
Developing estimate reports
Leading detailed estimate reviews with project teams
Documenting estimate details/values for tracking in accordance with SNC standards
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings specifications and related documents.
Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents.
Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying data in relatable format.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have experience estimating scoping funding, design, staffing, overheads, materials and equipment, planning, procedures, training, implementation, expenses, specialty vendors, closeout, funded risk, escalation and AFUDC costs.
Candidates must be familiar with standard estimate classifications including: Screening, Feasibility, Project Scoping, Project Definition, Detailed Engineering and Construction Estimates.
10+ years related experience (Heavy Industrial/Power Plant Related highly preferred), degree in Construction Management, Building Science or Engineering preferred
Proven ability to take the lead on challenging projects.
Requires minimal to no direction to accomplish projects.
Can set benchmarks for themselves and others to meet project success.
Advanced technical skillsets and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
