Nuclear Waste Characterization Specialist / Manager
Manage the following mission-critical activities:
• Radioactive material program development, improvement, and tracking.
• Waste management process including characterization support.
• Implement environmental and associated radiological requirements to ensure compliance with Department of Energy Orders, Federal and State regulations, and various standards (i.e., ANSI, ISO 14001, NESHAP and Department of Energy Directives, Guides, and Handbooks).
• Develop and implement environmental policies to ensure work scope is compliant. This includes development of highly complex regulatory interpretations and resolution of potential or actual compliance issues, with legal representatives.
• Also, may include development of permits; collection of samples; and gather data, calculating/modeling, and coordinating with other site contractors for the site-wide reporting to stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
