Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or related engineering discipline
Responsibilities
Ability to travel between company, vendor, and client sites as required
Ability to obtain nuclear power plant access as required
Excellent attention to detail and capable of producing error-free documents
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of applied mechanics and heat transfer principles
Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal supervision
Prefer previous nuclear experience, but not required
Prefer E.I.T. Certification, but not required
The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth implementation and execution of engineering projects across all services offered
The Project Engineer serves as the primary engineering interface with external parties, develops various technical products within their area of expertise, and assists with coordination of project deliverables to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet required quality standards
This role involves a combination of technical expertise, organizational proficiency, and effective communication skills
These services generally include design, analysis, licensing, manufacturing, project planning, training, construction, and operational activities
Overall, engineering services are designed to support the entire lifecycle of nuclear power plants, from initial design and construction through to decommissioning and waste management, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and innovation
This position will support various engineering projects with the following general responsibilities
Generate technical documents including Engineering Change Packages, O&M Manuals, Design Specifications, and various types of Procedures
Review and assess equipment functionality and operability with the purpose of identifying design change impacts
Support development / validation of system documentation including drawings, design descriptions, logic diagrams, process flow calculations, and equipment sizing
Assist Design and Analysis team members with development of conceptual / detailed design for fabrication of new and modification of existing plant systems and equipment
Establish design and quality requirements for equipment to be used in Nuclear Power Plant systems
Assist in the preparation of required licensing basis reviews (10CFR50.59, 10CFR72.48, 10CFR72.212, etc.)
to support plant modifications and operational activities
Works with Project Management to establish initial project schedules and evaluate impacts to schedules throughout the project lifecycle
Support the development of training material (Qualification Procedures, Lesson Plans, PowerPoint Presentations, Training Videos, etc.)
