VP of Operations
The VP of Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the operational strategies for the company’s industrial construction services. The VP will report to the CEO, and will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities within the corporate organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. This position is responsible for handling personnel and financial information and must ensure its confidentiality. This position requires overnight travel throughout the year as necessary. Travel percentage may fluctuate based on business needs.The VP of Operations will be responsible for multiple direct reports in the Minnesota corporate office. The ideal candidate will be closer to the corporate office in Minnesota.
This is a HYBRID position. The first 6 months - looking at heavier travel (anywhere from 50-75%) due to training in the corporate office. (They can go home during this time, they're not required to be in MN full time during this period.) After about 6 months, closer to 50% travel (to corporate office and sites throughout the US) and 50% remote work from home.
This senior leadership position requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with at least 10 years of energy industry experience (preferably nuclear) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in upper management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related industry field required. MBA is highly preferred.
Power generation industry experience (nuclear preferred) is strongly preferred.
Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in industrial construction or related sectors.
Preferred knowledge of the power generation services industry, including trends, challenges, and key players.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market conditions, financial reports, and performance metrics.
Highly motivated by achieving targets and driving business outcomes.
Proficiency in Microsoft O365, Teams, and related communication software.
Ability to exercise diplomacy, judgment, and discretion, particularly with sensitive or confidential information.
Strong attention to detail and ability to lead both directly and through influence.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Comfortable with overnight travel as needed for business purposes.
