BCP experience in plant and station commissioning spans all areas of the Electric and Gas industry and includes:

BCP is a trusted source to provide leadership and oversight for new plant commissioning.  BCP begins with the end in mind and focuses on establishing an integrated project schedule (IPS) by focusing on commissioning activities as a driver for construction activities.  We believe in developing effective lines of communication and continuous improvement through proactively identifying lessons learned and communicating those across the company.  While there is much to developing and implementing an effective commissioning process, several fundamental elements include:

  • Bounding the commissioning deliverables and support functions

  • Project scoping of delivery systems, commissioning deliverables, function interface requirements, and division of responsibilities

  • Optimize an Integrated Project Schedule (IPS) and maintaining focus on the shift from construction to commissioning

  • Standardize where ever possible

  • Establish an effective Configuration Management process and system

  • Establish a Trust but Verify Governance and Oversight Model

CASE STUDY – WATTS BAR UNIT 2 – ITP LEADERSHIP & JTWG

TVA contracted with BCP directly to support bringing WBN-2 online.  BCP provided experienced testing and startup support as well as technical expertise to support project needs moving from construction through ITP to operations.

BCP was a represented member on the Joint Technical Working Group and supported most major construction and testing milestones, including: System flushing and hydro-testing; Pre-operational testing; Integrated Hot Functional Testing; Fuel Load and Initial Startup Testing.

​

BCP expertise provided necessary experience on issues, testing sequences, problem resolution and support of engineering.

CASE STUDY – CITIZENS PUBLIC SERVICE – SPRUCE 2

BCP was hired by CPS to represent their interest and oversee the construction of a new fossil-fueled power plant.  The work scope included all aspects of design and engineering control that included:  Engineering design reviews and modifications; Design change document development; and Construction and commissioning oversight.

​

We were also responsible for the review of the commissioning sequence and schedule; Addressing corrective actions identified during commissioning; and Supporting initial connection of the plant to the grid.

​

Spruce 2 is a 780MW Supercritical Coal Fired Unit.  Project Cost $1 billion.
