ASSET MANAGEMENT CASE STUDY – RCP MOTOR REPLACEMENT
BCP planning the reactor coolant pump motor replacement using 3D technologies, modeling and simulations. Using an existing laser scan of the containment, BCP created in conjunction with its technology partner a model of containment, the RCP motor and moving elements including crane model with specifications. BCP developed the simulation sequence and task elements with associated schedule.

In running the simulation conflicts were identified and issue including the polar crane reach issues, allowing for work arounds to be developed in advance of the outage saving several days of outage time.
