Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer
Work Location: Wilmington, NC (onsite)
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Hours: 40
Per Diem: GSA rates for Wilmington, NC, varies by month
Mob/Demob: Allowable up to GSA rates
Duration: Up to 2 months
Responsibilities:
Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and simulation to support engineering analysis of process/facility systems.
Develop, run, and validate CFD models using standard industry software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM).
Analyze fluid flow, thermal, and/or gas separation behavior relevant to program equipment and processes
Document methodology, assumptions, and results in technical reports
Support design reviews and provide engineering recommendations to project engineers
Collaborate with mechanical, process, and safety engineering staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, Chemical, or related engineering discipline
Demonstrated hands-on CFD experience
Active DOE Q clearance
US citizenship.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs.
