Project Details: The Construction Manager will be supporting life extension projects for nuclear plants.
Scope of Work: The Construction Manager oversees the safe, on-time, and budget-compliant construction of nuclear infrastructure. Manages multidisciplinary teams, ensures strict adherence to nuclear safety regulations, quality standards, and security protocols. Coordinates with regulators, contractors, and stakeholders while maintaining rigorous project controls, risk management, and radiological safety throughout all phases of construction.
Construction Manager Responsibilities:
Leads planning, scheduling, and execution of nuclear construction activities, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Ensures compliance with NRC regulations and all applicable nuclear safety and quality assurance (QA/QC) requirements.
Manages project budget, cost control, and resource allocation while mitigating risks and resolving technical challenges.
Interfaces with regulatory agencies, engineering teams, and senior leadership to maintain clear communication and project alignment.
Implements and enforces rigorous safety programs, including radiological protection, industrial safety, and security protocols.
Oversees procurement, subcontractor performance, and supply chain management for critical nuclear-grade materials and components.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Manager
10–15+ years of commercial nuclear experience
Strong background in heavy mechanical and/or civil construction
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale nuclear construction projects
Working knowledge of NRC regulations, QA/QC programs, and nuclear compliance standards
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) projects
Prior experience with TVA projects or similar nuclear utilities
Requirements
Working conditions may be phsyically demanding and located in hazardous environments with exposure to heights, noise, weather, and confined spaces, and work shifts may be long depending on project schedule. Must be able life 50lb, traverse the site, and utilize appropriate PPE in required areas.
