Director of Licensing

Work Location:  CA or UT (Hybrid - 2 weeks onsite / 2 weeks remote)

Duration:  Long Term - Hire options are flexible:

  • 6-month contract-to-hire through staff aug

  • Staff Aug only

Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate

Hours: 40 +

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement licensing strategies for DoE, DoD, and commercial nuclear programs.

• Serve as primary point of contact with DoE, DoD, and other federal regulatory bodies. Oversee preparation and submission of license applications, amendments, and regulatory correspondence.

• Establish and maintain licensing policies, procedures, and program documentation. Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, QA, safety, and operations departments.

• Manage and mentor licensing staff including engineers, analysts, and specialists.

• Provide executive-level reporting on licensing status, risks, and milestones.

• Ensure organizational compliance with applicable federal regulations and DoE Orders.

Requirements:

• Minimum 15+ years of nuclear licensing experience with demonstrated leadership at a senior or director level.

• Deep knowledge of DoE Orders, federal nuclear regulations, and advanced reactor licensing frameworks.

• Experience interfacing directly with DoE or DoD on licensing and regulatory matters. Strong program management and team leadership skills.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs.
