I&C Engineer
Work Location: Hybrid (with as-needed travel to Oak Ridge, Tennessee and/or Santa Clara, California)
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Hours: 40+
The required qualifications are as follows:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
7+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls or a closely related discipline
Experience with nuclear fuel cycle, high-temperature, corrosive, or otherwise hazardous facility environments and operations
Demonstrated proficiency with PLC/SCADA systems, HMI development, and process sensor system design
Experience preparing I&C specifications, procurement documentation, and engineering calculations
Ability to develop technical documentation suitable for regulatory submissions.
Position Details:
Design, implement, troubleshoot, scale, and monitor instrumentation and control systems for client’s nuclear fuel recycling facility.
Integrate I&C design work across multidisciplinary teams including process, controls, equipment, and facility engineering.
Define system standards, design frameworks, and PLC/SCADA implementation patterns across multiple facility systems.
Develop electronic process sensor systems, digital controllers, and network topology.
Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment; develop supporting engineering calculations.
Develop intuitive dashboards, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and operator workflows that make complex facility systems easy to monitor and control.
Conduct system testing, simulation, and commissioning to validate architecture, functionality, and data accuracy.
Develop systems that meet facility and regulatory requirements; generate technical documentation for inclusion in regulatory filings.
Collaborate with licensing, process, and facility design teams to ensure I&C systems align with overall project requirements.
