Project/Work Scope: Candidate will support procedure updates for backlog and outage modifications.
Estimated Duration of Work Assignment: 3 months to start (outage support) and then extensions up to 1 year.
Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Per Diem: $114.28
Mob / Demob: $500.00 each ($1,000 total)
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Procedure Writer with a Mechanical Discipline and Maintenance background. The Procedure Writer must have at least 10 years' of experience in commercial nuclear power and 6 years' experience in Technical Procedure Writing. The Procedure Writer must be certified in PPA, and it is highly preferred that they have experience using the Procedure Automation System (PAS) and D2. The Procedure Writer is responsible for preparing, revising, and reviewing procedures for nuclear power plants in all craft disciplines, as well as for systems and integrated plant testing. The Procedure Writer must be familiar with nuclear power policies, protocols, and human performance tools, and will be responsible for maintaining consistency, readability and accuracy, as well as expedite content development or organization while ensuring quality of the procedures.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. PPA certification is required.
Minimum of 6 years experience in procedure writing is required. Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the nuclear industry.
Skills: D2 and PAS experience is highly preferred. Must have expertise in Technical Procedure Writing. The Procedure Writer must be organized and detail oriented, have exceptional writing skills, and strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. If on site, must have the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for nuclear facility access.
Physical Requirements: Position will mostly consist of computer work, requiring the candidate to sit and use a computer for long periods of time.
Position requires unescorted access to the protected area of a nuclear plant.
