Job Description

Mechanical Engineer

Work Location:  South Carolina or Texas

Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate

Duration: 6 months+

Hours: 40 hours per week, with options for up to 10 hours extra for emergent project needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate process/mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined design projects through all phases including planning, design, construction, and project startup

  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications related to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development

  • Generate and review accuracy of design/evaluation calculations and specifications

  • Demonstrate design experience in mechanical systems, water and waste systems, and equipment design

  • Coordinate multi-disciplined team efforts across project phases


Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related engineering phases

  • Nuclear experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of applicable federal (including DOE orders), state, and local codes and standards

  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting applications — required
