Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Hours: 40 hrs/week w/ Ability to work 10 to 12-hour shift, weekends, and nights occasionally.
Start: Immediately
Per diem: Not available per the client,
(client will pay an additional $22.00/hr for non-local candidates)
Mob / Demob: $500.00 each
Duration: Immediately through 2027
General Description:
Experienced operator with a desire to learn operations in high-temperature equipment, glass melting systems, air pollution control systems, and slurry mixing and pumping systems. Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the successful candidate will support the operation of glass melters, air pollution control systems, operation of waste materials slurry preparations, and VSL’s general research needs. The position requires independent work once fully trained. Collaboration with other staff members in a variety of disciplines is expected.
Experience requirements:
Prior experience working in manufacturing, construction, chemical plants, or other mechanical work environments. Minimum 5 years.
Relevant work experience in glass making operations or a related field is preferred.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D is required.
Vocational training or coursework in industrial technology, chemistry, or mechanics is preferred.
Other Requirements:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, attention to detail, good penmanship, and basic computer skills.
Ability to collaborate with engineers and follow technical drawings and schematics
Basic understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, valves, blowers, etc.) and comfortable working around high temperature equipment.
Strong commitment to safety, reliability and teamwork
Ability to remain alert and responsive during long shifts or overnight work.
Knowledge of electronic control systems preferred.
Ability to work 10 to 12-hour shift, weekends, and nights occasionally.
