Work Location: Onsite at the project site in UT for the first 3 weeks. Following this, they will transition to REMOTE with as-needed trips to the UT site.
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Hours: 40 +
Responsibilities:
Author, revise, and maintain operations procedures across multiple departments, working under the direction of department leads and subject matter experts
Collaborate with engineers, operations personnel, and other functional groups to gather technical input and translate it into clear, field-ready procedural documentation
Support both the development of new procedures from the ground up and the revision of existing procedure libraries to reflect current operations and evolving requirements
Ensure all procedures comply with applicable DOE orders, ASME NQA-1 requirements, and internal quality standards
Conduct document reviews and comment resolution in coordination with technical authorities and functional managers
Perform field walkdowns as needed to verify that procedure content accurately reflects actual equipment configurations and operational conditions
Incorporate lessons learned, operational feedback, and industry best practices into procedure development and revision activities
Maintain document control records and support configuration management of the procedure library
Requirements:
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, precise operational documentation
Strong understanding of nuclear facility systems, operations terminology, and the DOE regulatory environment
Familiarity with DOE quality assurance standards and ASME NQA-1 requirements
5+ years of procedure writing experience in the DOE and/or commercial nuclear industry
Education / Experience Requirements:
PPA Certification preferred
Prior SMR experience a plus
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs.
