Industry: Power Generation (Combined Cycle / Thermal)
Systems: SAP, Primavera P6
Rate Range: $50 - $60/hr ST
Per Diem: GSA CONUS ($178/day)
Duration: 6 months +
Start: IMMEDIATELY
We are seeking a
Planner / Scheduler to support power plant operations at the Cedar Bayou facility in Baytown, Texas. This role will assist in developing and maintaining work plans and schedules that support maintenance, outage, and small capital project activities within a combined-cycle power generation environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career planner or scheduler looking to grow within a high-reliability utility setting. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of senior planners and plant leadership to ensure work activities are properly planned, coordinated, and executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and updating maintenance, outage, and project schedules using Primavera P6
Support work planning and scheduling activities in SAP, including work orders, materials coordination, and labor planning
Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to align scheduled work with plant priorities
Support outage preparation activities, including schedule updates and work package tracking
Help ensure work plans include clear scope, sequencing, and required resources
Track schedule progress and communicate updates to planning and plant leadership
Assist with materials readiness and confirm parts, tools, and services are available prior to execution
Participate in planning meetings and schedule review sessions
Maintain planning and scheduling data accuracy in accordance with plant standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to work management processes
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance coordination, or project support within a power generation or heavy industrial environment
Working knowledge of SAP or other work management systems
Exposure to Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software
Basic understanding of power plant operations (combined-cycle or thermal generation preferred)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work documentation
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional plant teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting utility-scale or industrial facilities
Exposure to outage planning or maintenance coordination
Background in maintenance, engineering support, or project controls
Familiarity with reliability or preventive maintenance concepts
Work Environment
Onsite role at an operating combined-cycle power plant
Collaborative work environment with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors
May require support during outage periods or peak plant activity
