Project Manager (Hybrid)

Location: Candidates can work in Charlotte, NC; Stonington, CT; San Antonio, TX

Estimated Duration of Work Assignment: 12 months (potential to extend)

Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate

Hours: Standard work week 40 hrs, project may require 10-20 hours OT as needed

Expenses: GSA Expenses for Site or Corporate travel



Project/Work Scope:

  • The Sr. PM will be responsible for working with clients to address and resolve issues related to the project scope, quality of services, cost and schedule.

  • The successful candidate will coordinate and participate in the preparation of proposals for client work by working with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Monitor status of ongoing projects (budget, schedule, scope changes); review deliverables against scope and client expectations; participate in weekly schedule meetings and prepare monthly status reports.

  • Ensure contractual requirements are met, resolve contractual issues, initiate contract changes, and facilitate payments.

  • Review, approve, and correct project invoices as needed.

  • Understand and communicate client processes/procedures to staff; facilitate staff training when required.

  • Apply practical knowledge of routine design and engineering principles to solve problems.

  • Coordinate projects from early phases through budgets, design, construction drawings, and close-out.

  • Prepare Project Plans, budgets, and schedules; control project scope, budget, and schedule.                                                      


Experience/Educational Requirements: 

  • Education & Experience (Required): BS in engineering or related technical field from an accredited university with coursework in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar discipline.Minimum 10 years in design engineering, project management, and client relations. Experience with operating plant procedures/processes, budget analysis, and forecasting. Ability to manage, motivate, and organize team members while providing technical direction and task assignments.

  • Other Required: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email/database applications. Strong time management for concurrent projects; knowledge of project scheduling techniques. Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and project financial obligations. Ability to pass security/drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Overtime and travel to client sites required. Ability to perform industrial plant walkdowns (climbing ladders, security-controlled areas, confined/hazardous spaces).

  • Preferred: MS in engineering or related technical field. PE/EIT registration and/or PMP certification highly preferred.

  • Physical & Site Requirements: Position may require individual to obtain/maintain unescorted nuclear facility access; pass security screening and drug testing; perform equipment/system walkdowns in industrial environments (including climbing ladders, elevated areas, confined/controlled spaces); work overtime as needed; travel periodically to client/project sites.
