Sr. Process I&C Engineer

Work Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA (occasional travel to Utah)

Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate

Per Diem: GSA Rates

Hours: 40+

The required qualifications are as follows:

• Senior-level Instrumentation & Controls engineering experience

  
  

  • Process industry (refinery, Petrochem, industrial etc.) or sensitive environment (semiconductor, pharma, med device etc) background strongly preferred over nuclear background

  
  

  • Strong instrumentation-side skill set (loop design, specification, calibration philosophy)

  
  

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving design environment

  
  

  • Willing to work heavily in-person; role is not remote-friendly

Position Details: 

Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineers will support Valar Atomics' design team, with a bias toward process-industry (not nuclear) I&C background. This role supports an already solid instrumentation/controls team that needs additional bandwidth for instrument-focused scope.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support process instrumentation and controls design and specification

• Work closely with existing controls/instrument engineering team

• Support detailed design, procurement specification, and integration of I&C systems

• Participate in design reviews and support commissioning activities

• Work directly on-site with design and construction teams (Torrance and Utah)
